Cherrywood is a hamlet in north Pickering, out past the built-up south end in the farm country between Duffins Creek and Rouge National Urban Park. It goes back to the 1800s. The Walkey House on Rosebank Road dates from 1869, and the 1852 Altona Mennonite Church was built with bricks hauled from the old Cherrywood brickyard. Properties here are rural, with more land around each house than anywhere else we work. That means more grass to cut, longer tree lines to clean up and bigger driveways to clear in winter.
